Romli Mahmud graduated with a BA in Fine Art from the Institut Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam and a MA in Art and Design from Universiti Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia. Currently retired from teaching in Universiti Teknologi MARA, Machang, Kelantan.
