Haron Mokhtar’s (b. 1963, Sungai Besar, Selangor, Malaysia) artistic focus lies in Malay traditional architecture and culture. He received a BA in Fine Art at the MARA Institute of Technology, majoring in Painting and Printing. He also holds an Art Teaching Diploma which embarked him on his art teaching career at various institutes across Selangor and Sarawak. He has been awarded the Major Award in the Young Contemporaries (1987) and First Prize in ITM Art Competition (1988). His consistent series has culminated in various solo exhibitions such as: Siri Kaseh Sayang, Galeri Shah Alam (1995); In Pursuit of Penang, The Artists Space, Hotel Concorde (1999); Siri Atas Bawah Pusaka, Pelita Hati (2005); Siri Sutera Mengadap Tuanku Sultan, Istana Mestika (2009); Siri Warisan,  Pelita Hati (2011); Yesteryear Part I, and Yesteryear Part 2, Interpr8 Art Space (2015) and a retrospective titled Mokhtar: Kapsul Masa 1988-2018, at Galeri Shah Alam (2018).
