Bibi Chew (b. 1969, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) is a contemporary, alternative & conceptual artist who explores ordinary materials/objects in her art, taking on  subject matters like race, environment & gender. Bibi’s art reflects on the ambivalence in the politics of difference. Educated at Singapore’s LASALLE College of the Arts, she completed her formal art education at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia. She returned home in the late 90s and began teaching at Malaysian Institute of Art where she still lectures today.
