Mei Kei’s (b. 1993, Malaysia) work incorporates the notion of play. She believes that playing is a right of childhood, and represents a crucial aspect of a child’s physical, intellectual and social development. Working as a children’s art teacher she discovered that children reveal their emotions through doodling and drawing. She adopted these  images for her paintings and transformed them into her own visual language.
