Tan Rahim Zahici (b. 1934, Perak, Malaysia) is known for his experimentation with abstraction in the batik medium. He was largely a self-taught artist, committing himself to painting in the early 1970’s. His batik paintings are notable for their striking similarity to the colour-field painting movement in 1960’s New York.
