Syed Thajudeen Saik Abu Talib (b. 1943, Alagankulam, India) is a veteran artist who has lived and studied in India and Malaysia. He grew up in the village of Alagankulam but spent his formative years as a student in Penang, Malaysia, and was part of the inaugural group exhibition of the Penang State Museum and Art Gallery in 1965. He pursued a post diploma in Fine Arts from the Government College of Arts and Crafts in Madras, and returned to Malaysia to join MARA Institute of Technology as a lecturer from 1974-1976. Syed Thajudeen has exhibited extensively around the world. In 2015, the Penang State Government honoured him with Retrospective, a solo exhibition held at the Penang State Art Gallery & Museum.
